Wittmann-Price, PhD, RN, CNS, CNE, is an Assistant Professor of Nursing and a Research Intensive Doctoral Faculty member at Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions, Philadelphia. She teaches undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students of nursing in a variety of courses, including women’s health and nurse educator courses. Dr. Wittmann-Price is a certified nurse educator and coordinates the nurse educator track in the DrNP program at Drexel. She won the regional Nursing Spectrum award for best educator in 2008. She has been teaching both in the classroom and the clinical setting for over 12 years and has been clinically active as a maternal-child NICU nurse for over 30 years. Her research is focused on neonatal developmental issues and women’s decision-making. She has developed her own theory, the Wittmann-Price Theory of Emancipated Decision-Making in Women’s Healthcare. She has published 14 journal articles, has 29 conference presentations under her belt (local, state, national & one international), and has conducted numerous faculty in-service programs. Dr. WittmannPrice has written three book chapters and is coeditor of Moyer/Wittmann-Price, Nursing Education: Foundations for Practice Excellence (F. A. Davis, 2007), which received the 2008 AJN Book of the Year Award. She has also co-edited the CNE Review Manual (Springer Publishing). Brenda Reap Thompson, MSN, RN, CNE, is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of NCLEX Education for the CNE NCLEX Division, Drexel University, College of Nursing & Health Professions. Her expertise is in test development. She has had the opportunity to contribute to the development and review of test questions for NCLEX under the direction of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
