The Romanian selections are tetraploid (2n = 4x = 36). Chromosomes are small-sized ( 2 increases) and from type A to type C (in relation to the ratio between the size of the largest and the smallest chromosome pair). . Idiogram construction An idiogram was drawn based on the average of the mean values calculated for the karyotypes of the 4 analyzed selections (Table 3).
