Others prefer to eliminate the bulk of weft stitching by weaving or tying bunches of hair through an openweave fabric or netting much as a rug is hooked. Hair may also be implanted into a coat of glue or liquid latex painted on the skull or it may be implanted by coating the head w ith wax and using a hot needle to insert hair strands in small plugs. This allows the hide to sit lower than the hair line so that it appears that skull and scalp are continuous. No hide line shows above the surface.
