Subjects and methods A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 53 patients receiving a high-dose methotrexate-containing regimen at the Department of Hematopoietic Internal Medicine K Hospital from May 2019 to October 2020. Results Average age of patients 53.28 The male female ratio is 1.12 the majority of patients admitted to hospital because of lymphadenopathy 37.7 followed by headache 28.3 paralysis 5.7 Most of the patients PS 1 62.3 Syndrome B occurs in 20.8 of cases. The highest proportion of patients with CNS infiltration prophylaxis was 55 . The rate of side effects was 67.9 of which the rate of side effects increased liver enzymes the highest rate 56.6 of the patients most of the patients had transient elevation of liver enzymes grade 1 and quick recovery the rate of acute renal failure after transfusion was 13.2 of which there was only 1 patient with grade 2 renal failure the rate of gastrointestinal toxicity accounted for 17.0 There was only 1 patient with grade 3 leukopenia accounting for 1.9 . Conclusion This study investigates some side effects of non-Hodgkin lymphoma patients treated with high dose methotrexate thereby helping nurses to plan care and manage some unwanted effects towards improving quality care for patients.
