Interwell tracer technique – an effective tool to assist oil recovery

In secondary or tertiary oil recovery, water, gas or solvent is injected into the reservoir to maintain the reservoir pressure and displace oil toward the producers. By injection of tracer in the injection fluids and observation of tracer appearance in the producers the interwell community as well as residual oil saturation in the swept zone can be determined. |
